Let it snow!

Before Ab even came in the room to see us this morning, she yelled from the kitched window. "It snowed! Dad there is enough snow for a snowman! And a snowball fight! come see, come see, come seeeeeee!!!" We ate and got ready for the day, found and sorted thru the winter gear box, (which after we tried on D's snowboots, i found him out the back door, thru the gate and walking to the street.... saying 'bbbrrrrrrr!' ya think?) and went to the youth ranch for some cheap snowboots for Ab. After winco and some lunch, we layered up and went into the winter wonderland....

"Look Mom! Im a snowplow!"

Then we went in for some hot chocolate'....We sorted toys yesterday, and Dax has been toteing these ponies around ever since. "Nneeeeiiiiggghhhhhh!"

Deck the Halls!

We set up the tree one day, and got the decorations out another. Everyday A was reminding us we needed "to get the Christmas decorations on the tree!" We all had a fun time listening to carols and drinking hot cocoa and trimming up the tree. I bought a new star for the top, since we've never had one :) And of course Mr. Peeps watched the whole thing ;)

D actually posed for this one.

As soon as the flashe went off he came around to my side to see the pic...

ornament in hand.

Then we hung up the stockings and D decided this is where this one would go...

Then he got ahold of the camera and took pics until the camera's memory card was full. He found a train ornament and took at least 20 pics of it. Crazy kid. Even a cool self portrait...

He's a bit train obsessed lately =)

no pics....

So im looking at 'My Pictures' folder, and i have nothing for November. Balls. I know i took stuff on my phone, so i'll have to get it sent over. But like I said, it wasn't until last week that I felt like I had made it back. So I guess we'll skip November lol except A had a couple fun field trips. The first was to the firestation. Jb took them since i was working, and all he had to say was 'our kids were afraid of everything, and D covered his ears the whole time.' ha ha. The second was to Rafiki. A playplace in Boise. We got there at 10, ate from the cafe' at 12, and left at 2! It was a great time. An indoor play structure, a dress up area, reading couch, climbing wall, baby "nursery", play kitchen, air hockey, ping pong, and the place D stayed for the whole time was the train table. No joke, maybe 10 minutes here and there he'd wonder off, but then back to the trains. It was a good time

Happy Halloween ;)

So the Wednesday before Halloween week, I got a call from my boss's boss, Rick Williams, to go to Utah and help throw freight at the West Valley Store. It was a rush to get things done before i left and took me until last week to feel like i was back. Its been crazy at work, getting put on different shifts all week and the holiday jazz. So I felt like i could post some pics from halloween. I missed out while i was gone. I left on Sunday and that night was a party at mom's house. I was sitting in my hotel room, no roommate so feeling lonely, and i get these pics sent to me from Jb. I bawled. He got them ready by himself and took them to the party. I hadnt even seen them in their costumes yet!

I mean, how cute it that!!!! The Petersen head-tilt!

And then M sent me some pics ;)
Then there was the ward truck or treat and A's preschool halloween party. So I made it home in time for trick or treating ON Halloween. Which was great =) [Just remembered i need to post about our trip to the emergency room that happened before i went to utah...]

Our Family Tree

hahahahahah lol...i'm sitting here blogging, jb's in the office with me. He sees the pics that i choose for the next entry. I pause....thinking about a title. The lightbulb dings in my head, and i say out loud (thinking that im clever) "Our Family Tree". ha ha ha
Jb:(the whole time, not taking his eyes off his work) "No. That is not our family tree. THAT is an ACTIVITY tree."
I almost fall off my chair laughing...and now its been 20 minutes, im crying im laughing so hard and neither of us have gotten any work done! Hilarious! On with the post.....

So I got an this idea from Laura via Brassy Apple.
Got a blue piece of posterboard, painted on a tree with 31 branches and some grass.
Then got it laminated at Thorne printing for $4.26 woot woot!

(notice that it is hung ABOVE the lightswitch... D proofed it)

Then cut out 31 leaves, numbered them and wrote activities on certain days, and taped them up on the branches.

Viola! Now, everyday we work on our numbers. I'm going to make a blank calendar that we can put the leaves on...then she can see the month progressing. The winter will be snowflakes, pink popcorn balls for spring and green leaves for summer =) a couple tips....

1) make your leaves have a point on both ends... (or rounded like laura's)

i tried having an 'end' but then my leaves were all on the same side...ya know?

2) Have a list of what you write down on the back =) I had a rough draft with ideas...and the day of the week listed next to it...so that i didn't have us going to the library on Tuesday. Lame Nampa Public Library =P

our activities are simple...sometimes i just wrote 'Preschool', or 'Happy Halloween'. Carve pumpkins, paint project, go to grandmas. Starting my list for next month =)

Gonna get my list started

I know M posted about this on Brassy Apple.... but my wheels are turning

Preschool Field Trip!

Ab had her second 10am field trip (the first was a tour of Krispy Kreme-AJ and D came along) to Idahos Original Maize on Meridian Rd. Ab, D, Jb and Me were joined by the Sasser girls ;) And her class of course, but everyone split up after the intro. We started with some songs, Old McDonald and such. There were alot of little groups there, so i think this was their way of staggering it.

Jb was entertaining D while the music went on..... and on.... jk it wasnt that bad

Then there was a little track with a few pedal cars the kids raced on...
D won most of the time...he had a good motor ;)
There was a cow train. As we were waiting in line I read the names of the cows to Ab....

She picked this one =)

A fun huge bouncy thing they call the "blob", and a couple slides

And a hayride out to the pick-your-own-pumkin patch

Glad we went.... as a family :)

At least I know that she knows

We have this thing we say. We'll say 'guess what?' ...'what?' ...'i love you'...'gasp! i love you too!'. So this evening she's standing a little ways from me, not really doing anything. She loves whispering in my ear lately, so i walk over and lean down and whisper 'guess what?'. She hikes up her shoulder and gives me a brush off look. "I know, i know, i know", she says. "You love me." =)

Morning loves

So I was in the kitchen pouring bowls of ceral this morning and i heard Ab walking over from the living room. I squated down and opened my arms so i could hug her when she came around the corner. She smiled and hugged me saying "I'm sorry I didn't eat my oatmeal yesterday." lol I told her it was ok and lifted her up onto the counter still hugging her.
Ab: "Ummm, your cute"
I leaned back to look at her
Me: "Your cuter."
Ab: "Your cuter."
Me: "Your adorable."
Ab: "Actually, You and me are both cute."
I laughed and squeezed her tight
Ab: "MOM! You are hurting my BONES!"

Things are not always what they seem... (title pirated from M's blog) hehe

So we ran out of milk, so we couldnt have cereal for breakfast. We are only pancakes/waffle, eggs, hashbrowns and toast people on a very rare occasion...unless its for dinner ;) but with no milk, and hungry kids, i busted out the toaster and cinnamon and sugar. A treat they havnt had in a long time. Ab was right there when i opened up that cupboard and she spotted something. Before i knew it, she had set up an "office" right there at the dinner table. "Look mom! Me and Bubba are working on our laptops!" lol it does look like a keyboard with all those squares...good thinkin Ab!

Du dum da dum

the wedding tune... do you hear it now? du dum da dum... ;) lots of first lately. I was asked to be the Maid of Honor for the first time for a friend at work. I planned and hosted my first bridal shower, planned/attended my first bachelorette party, practiced at my first wedding rehersal, and helped at the wedding. Thank you to everyone that helped me these last few months, ESPECIALLY this week!! Loves
