Build a bear

The kids got gift cards a while back and we finally used them on abbs first day of 1st grade back in july. Lulu got a kitten and Dax got a weiner dog. Kittens name is Rosie and bubba named his....Super Puppy!!! So it was pretty cute when super puppy was playing dress up today with dax :)

National grandparents day!

So larry calls renee the dragon, because she swoops down and breaths fire on everything :) aww how sweet lol dax started calling her 'grandma dragon'....haha .......so with it being national grandparents day and all we made a cake for gma dragon :D and grandpa because he loves dragons!

Balloon suprise!

The hot air balloon races are this weekend in reno at the park right down the street from larry and renees so we've seen a few balloons floating around in the morning. This morning we walked to school and abby's friend was there already and said everyone was on the otherside of the building looking at a hof air balloon...that I assumed was flying by closely or something. Then the principal announced over the pa that if the teachers wanted to take their class to see the balloon to sign up in the teachers lounge. I thought, that's lame that they'd go outside to watch one fly by. The bell rang for abb to go in and i walked over a little to where dax was playing and looked over and you could see the balloon in the grass on the otherside of the school!!! Awesome! Dax and I walkes over and checkrd it out and abbs class ended up coming out. They got to walk up to it and ask the pilot questions and abbs teacher Mrs. D got in the basket. It was pretty cool. Dax got kinda scared when he woukd fire it up and everyone outside would scream and giggle. It was pretty cool :)

Oh Abb

I finally used an itunes gift card I wanted for my bday and bought up some songs and made a mixed cd. Wev been listening to it in the car for a couple weeks now so the kids are starting to sing along. We got in the car tonight and it was midway into "marry you" by bruno mars. Abb starts nodding her head to the beat then says " I know its against the law to marry your brother!" In an excited 'I know something' voice! Haha yep abb. He's handsome and sweet, but no. You will not be marrying your brother :)

Dinner with Daddy

Hahahaha guess abb is missing daddy pretty bad cus at dinner last night she pulled jbs most recent trophy over to her and said "I want daddy to be next to me for dinner!" Lol....a little creepy lol

In the kitchen

Its my weekend and I wanted to do some cooking, and I had a great helper/taste tester :) I tried making tortillas that didn't turn out so good, and cookies today that did turn out good. Its been fun :)

My handsome lunch date

We signed dax up for a preschool out here close to our house with a lady that does it out of her house. Preschool is wicked expensive down here! She was close and had a great price so we jumped on it! 2 days for 2.5hrs. It will be just enough :) So we stopped in to drop off our school supply money and dax was soooo charming! He was super cute and warmed up to her instantly. She had to take a phone call and left the room breifly and dax whispers to me "mom. When are you leaving??" Haha he was ready to start and have he drop him off! Oh bubba. So we left there after he explained to his teacher that he would help her spell his name, and went to target to get a couple new shirts and pair of shorts for school. Then treated ourselves to, as requested by my date, chicken stars ;) we had a fun day

Summer fire

9:30pm Jb comes home from his dirtbike club meeting, kids in bed, and im in the kitchen cleaning up.
Jb - I don't want to freak you out...but we might not stay here tonight.
Me - WHY?!? ( mind racing of what could have happened that we need to leave...was he followed home? Is he involved in something and its gone bad? Are the neighbors being scary? What!?!!)
Jb - Across the street.......is on fire.
Me - W H A T! ?!!?!?!?!
So it was across the FREEWAY...which is kinda across the street, the way that people blocks away are our neighbors....but kinda not lol. I walked outside and saw this. Pretty scary. Went for a drive to check it out and didn't feel like I needed to pack up and leave. Which was a weird feeling walking around the house looking at what I would, and would not take with me in the case of an evacuation. Interesting. So about 11:30pm he checks it out and says it looks like they have it almost out and we'll stay here. Haha wev been having fire safety talks a lot lately :)

Felt a little like finding nemo this morning with abb rushing into my room this morning "mama! Mama! Mama! First grade today! Will I be late?!" It was 7:04am. Nope abb...we've got plenty of time :) she only teared up once with nerves haha but got over it by 7:20 :) big girl!! Love you sugerbeat!!!!

"T" is for Brown!

I read the kids a bedtime story or two..... or six, and then they like to pick out one to look at with their flashlights while they fall asleep. Dax picked a sesame street letter book.

Dax: Mom, what letter is this?
Me: It's the letter "T" bubba.
Dax: That's my favorite letter! "T" is for Brown! That's us!!
Me: hahahaha no bubba. "B" is for Brown. B. "T" is for Tom.
Dax: ooooooh. It's my favorite letter! (hugs the book)
