Happy Valentine's Day!

Pretty low key this year. Abb took rice crispy treats to her class and was happy when she only brought home 4 :) Neither of the kids wanted to make valentines to exchange this year so we went with store bought :/ oh well haha. Jb was out at the track so when I got home the kids and I went and snagged a couple pizzas and I surprised the kids with s'mores stuff!

 

Got a little metal chimneia this summer.

Haven't used it too many times, but the kids love when we do :)

Dance PARTY!!

So the kids school put on a Valentine themed fundraiser. It was a Daddy/daughter, Mother/son semi formal dance! There was a spag feed before hand but Abb didn't want to get her dress dirty so we skipped that part. I picked out a dress for her on my day off and *fingers crossed* that she would like it showed it to her just days before the dance...

She loved it!! We curled her hair and put a little makeup on her ;)

My date also got some new digs ;) Haaaaaaandsome boy!

 He loves wearing the vest and tie :)

A students dad dj's so it was a legit sound system and set up.

Even tho we didn't eat the dinner,

Dax made up for it with 4 pieces of cake ;)

Dax helped himself, and gave me some all cute like

and told to me to make sure I got them in a "base".

So I took them to work :) put a smile on my face

We danced and danced :) It was a great night and one I won't be forgetting anytime soon

First day of school!!!! 2013

Yay!!!! Well yay for almost everyone :) My sweetest girl had quite the reserve about starting school. 1st and 2nd grade she was in the same room with the same teacher. So it was a little too much to take on knowing she was going to be in a new room, new hall, new grade, new teacher. Happy 3rd grade. Not.

Sleeping Beauty

After a fun filled morning and afternoon with Aunt Rusty,

and an great evening with some friends at our house,

 we climbed in my bed for storytime.

I took and tucked in Dax first...

who needed to pee, and needed a drink,

and his nightlite fixed, and 12 extra kisses...

I came back to my room to find this beauty...

She's still there...and might be for the night :)

And one of the years Renee bought us the back cushions with the intention of recovering them

I love love love the way it turned out.

3 bottles of spray paint

4 yds of clearance gray fabric

bed pillow cut and pillowcased

and VIOLA!!

Its a little light, but it's gonna fade out there anyways...so might as well start out that way haha.

And it only took a couple hours. I could kick myself for not doing it sooner

 

And THIS little helper!!! best $2.50 I've spent in a long time ;) snack on the can and pull the trigger!

The kids have been hanging it out on it almost every night :)

Color Me Rad!!!!

WICKED AWESOME!!! 

5 weeks ago I downloaded an 8 week Couch to 5k running program app on my phone
 with goal of running this race. I stuck to it and was able to run the whole thing!
Not a huge feat cus it's only 3 miles...
but Week 1 Day 1 of the program I was only able to run 53 seconds
and I was ready to give up lol
and today I ran 5k in 32 mins :)!!

Such a great time....really glad I was able to participate

nightmares

Abb and Dax watched some show on Netflix...Abb went and showered and started a new episode for bubba and I was in the bedroom doing laundry. Jb said that Dax came over and sat with him and covered his face for some of it. So bedtime comes and I fell asleep reading in bed....when jb came home he woke me up to find this.....

I don't remember him coming in the room...and the new mattress makes the bed higher and a bit of an effort to get onto...so my little man curled up on the floor, with a towel haha and went back to sleep. Just wanted to be near momma ;)

Holy Goodness

Been a little under the weather the last few days ...and the other night jb was gone at a meeting so I just vegged at the comp cus it's kinda in the middle of everything. I got on pintrest cus it's all everyone talks about at work lately...and of course I found some recipes...cus I'm a fat kid. And love to eat :) And who doesn't love a homemade Snickers Bar?!?!?!! That's what I want to know. So after I dropped the kids at work [yes my head is still foggy.] SCHOOL, I made this lovelyness.....

Right?!?!?!?!?! they get melty kinda quick...leaving them in the fridge and snacking from there

Dax is my chocolate lovin boy..."just one more mom? please? with a cherry on top?"

Because honestly, who doesn't need a 9x13 size sheet of Snickers sitting in their fridge ;)

We already delivered some to a couple families in the neighborhood

and taking more to work tomorrow...

Dax has been on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle kick (thank you Larsen fam :) ) So today he brings me some fabric and asks for a mask and belt ... that, I can do

He wanted a shell and thats when Abb decided she needed to be Turtle girl :)

It was the only green fabric he could find and cut his own shell :)

Helpers

We've had a great day. Went to church this morning and cleaned house this afternoon. It wasnt too much of a wreck...but needed to be picked up. I made the menu plan for the week and decided to do pizzas today since we didnt last week. I was mixing up the dough and Dax wanted to help...so I let him measure out the flours and then I set him up with his own bowls.

Um... I love bums...these pants are too little and this was AFTER he helped me haha

I rolled out the crusts while Dax got the pepperoni out 

They got to "decorate", as Abby calls it, their pizza :)

The house smelled really good!
After dinner I was folding some laundry in the bedroom, and asked Abb to unload the dishwasher so I could load it. I came out to check on the kids and Dax was playing playdoh :) (it's been 45 mins now and he's still playing!)

And Abb had LOADED the dishwasher too!!! WOOT WOOT!!
