In the kitchen

Its my weekend and I wanted to do some cooking, and I had a great helper/taste tester :) I tried making tortillas that didn't turn out so good, and cookies today that did turn out good. Its been fun :)

My handsome lunch date

We signed dax up for a preschool out here close to our house with a lady that does it out of her house. Preschool is wicked expensive down here! She was close and had a great price so we jumped on it! 2 days for 2.5hrs. It will be just enough :) So we stopped in to drop off our school supply money and dax was soooo charming! He was super cute and warmed up to her instantly. She had to take a phone call and left the room breifly and dax whispers to me "mom. When are you leaving??" Haha he was ready to start and have he drop him off! Oh bubba. So we left there after he explained to his teacher that he would help her spell his name, and went to target to get a couple new shirts and pair of shorts for school. Then treated ourselves to, as requested by my date, chicken stars ;) we had a fun day

Summer fire

9:30pm Jb comes home from his dirtbike club meeting, kids in bed, and im in the kitchen cleaning up.
Jb - I don't want to freak you out...but we might not stay here tonight.
Me - WHY?!? ( mind racing of what could have happened that we need to leave...was he followed home? Is he involved in something and its gone bad? Are the neighbors being scary? What!?!!)
Jb - Across the street.......is on fire.
Me - W H A T! ?!!?!?!?!
So it was across the FREEWAY...which is kinda across the street, the way that people blocks away are our neighbors....but kinda not lol. I walked outside and saw this. Pretty scary. Went for a drive to check it out and didn't feel like I needed to pack up and leave. Which was a weird feeling walking around the house looking at what I would, and would not take with me in the case of an evacuation. Interesting. So about 11:30pm he checks it out and says it looks like they have it almost out and we'll stay here. Haha wev been having fire safety talks a lot lately :)

First day of school! First day of school! First day of school!

Felt a little like finding nemo this morning with abb rushing into my room this morning "mama! Mama! Mama! First grade today! Will I be late?!" It was 7:04am. Nope abb...we've got plenty of time :) she only teared up once with nerves haha but got over it by 7:20 :) big girl!! Love you sugerbeat!!!!

"T" is for Brown!

I read the kids a bedtime story or two..... or six, and then they like to pick out one to look at with their flashlights while they fall asleep. Dax picked a sesame street letter book.

Dax: Mom, what letter is this?
Me: It's the letter "T" bubba.
Dax: That's my favorite letter! "T" is for Brown! That's us!!
Me: hahahaha no bubba. "B" is for Brown. B. "T" is for Tom.
Dax: ooooooh. It's my favorite letter! (hugs the book)

Good times....

Made some wicked awesome good-stuff-over-chips, rode our bikes around and ended up at the park, kids being kids....good times

our camp grounds!! We went for a drive yesterday to get a better feel for where we could go camping....and found a jackpot! it's only a half hour from our house which is a huge bonus and it's gorgeous.The kids were ready to just sleep in the car and go without food if it meant we could stay the night haha gonna be a fun summer!!

Water Fun!!

This park is at the bottom of our street. The water only runs from memorial day to labor day and certain times of the day. We finally made it there today for the first time and we had a blast!! Minus the wind that made it cold between jonts in the mist :) abb and jb okayed catch for a bit and bubba scootered around the water....yay summer!!
