more nakedness

this was actually before the sprinklers...Abb was finishing up with the watering, so Dax went and rode his bike lol he drops his bottoms when he has to go potty...which was in the front yard this morning ;) still working on getting the training wheels off.... she's gets all emotional when we talk about lol

the kids like getting on the blog and watching the videos of themselves ha ha, so nothing real special about the video, other than no hands girl!! ...just something for them to laugh at.

planting

I decided we needed some flowers in the half dozen planters we have by the front door ;), so I took the kids to the Shopko greenhouse (it's next to winco he he) on Saturday and we each picked a couple out. It was a nice morning today, so we went out and planted them. Dax liked pouring the water out of the jug and Abb liked getting the flowers out of the containers and planting them. It was a fun time decideing where to put them :) Once they were all in, Abb gave them the final watering for the day.

I turned around and mentioned that the grass needed some water. "I've got an idea mama!!" water pouring out of the jug as she spun around like a sprinkler lol

"Can we turn the REAL sprinklers on?!?!?!" sprinklers on, clothes off! (abb is feeling her wet bum...not picking it lol)

playdoh mishap

Abb asked to make playdoh, so we got it all in the pot....she likes to measure and pour everything in the pan. I think the measurement were a little off, because at the point where it should just ball up, it was all over and i couldn't stir it.
Me: Something is wrong here abb.
Ab: Make a prayer mom. Make a prayer and ask Jesus to help you. To help you be strong and fix it.

ummm ok! :) the prayer didnt work, but starting over with correct measurements did the trick. and a non-stick pan ;)

oh bubba

D is doing pretty good with the potty-training. We ran out of diapers the other day, and I dont think we can go without them at night yet, so we talked about what to buy i.e. pull-ups or more diapers. I ended up buying both. JB and D stayed in the car while A and I ran inside and picked them out. Lucky for us they had Cars pull-ups. We got out to the car and A opens up the door and says "Look Bubba! Look what we got for you! It's Lightening bubba!" His eyes get all wide and a huge grin as he takes them in his hands. "Thank you Abbs!" he says. It was the sweetest thing. He kept repeating it. Thank you Abbs. You could just hear the genuine gratitude in his little voice :)

any one out there??

sorry I've been more than lacking in my posts. I have a whole slew of posts I need to make. I write them all day in my head, week in and week out, and never seem to get them here. I wanted this to be more of a day to day "journal" of the little things that happen...like right now how the kids are laughing and jumping on the tramp saying back and forth to each other "yo-yo man!" what ever that means! lol. Or how the other day JB said, out of the blue, "Sometimes I wonder if the key to my life is in a dirtbike..." wow. lol So this is my May 25th resolution to get back to my four agreements, and do my best. Hopefully my posts will be more frequent, so that I can look and remember the little things...not just the events that I took pictures at ;)

April 24th

We finally had a huge fam photo taken. The last time was in 2003...plenty of additions since then. Jb, I and the kids went outside and chatted while the photographer was taking individual family photos. M was there and snapped a couple pics of us. The kids were running around and didnt want to sit with us, so she took a few of Jb and I. Then Dax ran up to my back, and Abb came and sat and we got just the right pic. I love how they turned out. Thanks M!!! WE LOVE YOU!

When we got home, I took Abb in the back yard and took a couple pics of her. It was her b-day the next tuesday....so I thought I could get a "5 year old" pic a few days early. i LOVE this girl

Stretch it out

- - - - So our camera hasn't been working correctly for months now....many, many, many months. Some how the batteries only last a day. IF that. So it's incredibly frustrating. I want to take pics but don't want to buy batteries for everyday. We tried rechargeable, but they wouldn't even last a few shots. So I get what I get and I don't throw a fit. Jb has been looking on ebay the last few days because he's been doing a few side jobs (and is tired of hearing me whine ha ha) so hopefully I will be behind the lens again soon... - - - -


I got a 'kid concoction' book from the library last week. I originally got it for a paint recipe I saw while skimming the pages. I was looking thru it yesterday and spotted this simple FUN recipe. [i tried to take pics of the kids making it, but alas...see explanation above] So we made it at noon and at 7pm the kids (and i) were still stretching and playing with it. Addictive.

FUNNY PUTTY

2 T White glue

3 drops food coloring

1T Liquid starch

1. pour glue in a small bowl and mix in the food coloring

2. pour liquid starch in a separate bowl and then drizzle the colored glue over it slowly

3. let sit for 5 minutes (the glue will absorb some of the starch)

4. stir with your finger for a few seconds and then start squishing and kneading the SLOPPY concoction until it becomes a rubber texture.

5. Have fun! store in a plastic egg or plastic bag

~also, speaking of stretching...I went to the church workout group yesterday and did more pushups that I have EVER, and my tricepts are sooooooooo sore today. It hurts to bend my elbow all the way lol sheesh

the news....

So I usually don't forward e-mails on...but I got this lucky-make-a-wish email at just the right weak moment. . . . .

Jb applied on-line for a job in February with the post office. A job in Reno. Renee' called and let him know he wasn't on her list of people to interview. He also got a call saying that he wasn't eligible to work for the post office, because he didn't sign up for Selective Services between the ages of 18-25. Whatever, it's a government job. So we stopped thinking about it. Then, about a week later he got an e-mail from the main post office in Salt Lake City, saying they had the same position open and invited him to an introductory meeting. He drove down on Feb 22, and filled out some more paperwork and consented to a backround check along with 50 other people. Another e-mail a week later confirmed an interview for March 9 at 11am. I started talking to my boss about a possible transfer to one of the new WinCo's opening up in May in Ogden, Roy and Orem. [Job openings are always posted on the breakroom door for all the stores. All positions are available for the new stores, but I'd need to turn in my application of interest by March 17]. So he has the interview. They mention that if there are positions that come available in the next 12 months, they will pull from these people that got interviews instead of accepting more apps. He wasn't feeling very confident, and the date for my transfer application was closing in.

- - Tuesday, March 16. We still hadn't heard anything from the post office..... and then I got the e-mail. "Make a wish and send to 15 people and it will come true in 1 day" Wicked. Exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks to those who played along. My wish....please let us hear about the job, please let us hear about the job, please let us hear about the job.

- - - Wednesday, March 17th. I get to work at 6am as usual. Snagged an application and stashed it in my locker to be filled out if i get a txt from Jb saying he got the job. I do my thing and my boss shows up at 8:30. Within 15 mins of being there, she is telling me that Mr. W(her boss) called yesterday and said his Variety Manager for the Orem store fell threw and he needs a new one NOW. He asked her to ask me if I was interested. Balls. They have been trying to get me to do the MIT(Manager In Training) program since last year. So it's normally a 6 month to a year program, which in this case would be ONE MONTH since the store opens May 3rd and I'd need to be down there for the set in mid April. Really?? Was I really being offered this job??? Not was I was wishing for yesterday....

I took my break and called Jb. We talked about how little of a pay raise it is for the amount of stress it would be. We would still both need to work, and if he didn't get the post office job...then there wasn't a real reason to go to Utah. I went back down and told my boss, and then made the phone call to Mr. W and explained how grateful I was that he thought of me, but right now with my kids still so little, the schedule wouldn't work.

Be careful what I wish for, right?.......

So I get home late Wednesday night from a dinner with work friends, and we talk about it. I tell him about the wish e-mail, and how I was wanting an answer for HIS job... not one for ME hahaha. He says "Oh, this answer?" and pulls up an e-mail from 3:50pm that afternoon..... " After a review of the applications and interviews, you were not selected for this job posting." So......there it is.

And here we will stay....although Fairbanks Alaska e-mailed with an open position as well..... ;)

Hooray for preschool field trips!

Ab has got to go on some cool field trips thru preschool...and in turn, we get to tag along ;) Krispy Kreme(Sept), Corn Maize(Oct), Fire house, Rafiki(Nov), Primos(Feb), and this month was The Discovery Center of Idaho!! This "Mom! that's a simple machine!!" was in the first room, and everyone keep going back to it. Miss Ab in action

There was a little play area for the kids to be Veterinarians looking at animal x-rays and examining the paitents

Then D found the bubbles and it was all over. He was pretty nice about taking turns... :)

There was a room with a green wall, and the kids got to be in front with a scene behind them...like the weather man. It had a couple green sheets, so I wrapped each kid up and they looked like a floating head. pretty funny. Also the dark room with the 'camera' in it, reflecting a scene from outside. Ab was afraid to be in there in the dark, and D was nervous too...he was covering his ears the whole time.

D sat down here for a minute...

It was a great time! There is a park across the bridge. I think next time we will pack up the picnic basket and play after.

Instant Fan

D woke up first this morning, came in a snuggled with me, and then went out to the living room to start a movie from the sounds of it. [Backtrack a few hours to 3 am, when he came in the room. Jb was sleeping on the door side where i usually sleep because the alarm is there, and D realized it wasnt me. I sat up and and asked if he needed to go potty. He said no. I said lets go back to bed bubba, and he said "Moooom! I suggle you! I suggle you!" Well, ok then. When you put it that way :)] So I get up and help D with putting Spiderman in the player. We sit on the couch, and then we hear Ab. D says "Abby? Cwying?" So I go in and snuggle in her bed... she loves it.
Me: Hi :)
Ab: Hi mama......is the hockey game today????
Me: *laughing* no sweetie, it's not until monday. Today is Thursday, so thats Friday, Saturday.......
This past monday we went to a local league hockey team game at the Bank of America center. A friend from work plays, and its free to get in so we went to see what its all about. The kids loved watching them skate around...but more they loved running around the empty stadium, sitting in every seat and running up and down the stairs. It was a good time, and ever since Ab has been asking to go back lol

i've been waiting for it!!!!!

Bedtime isnt always easy with Mr. D. He wants to come out of the room a billion times, and sleep any and everywhere BUT his bed. Its gotten easier since he's started talking more. "Dink mama" (drink) "Pee mama" , "King, Chick Hick, Dooup dow" (Ka Chow-Lightening MCQueen) So the night before last, I'm frustrated at 10 still taking D to bed. I hoist him onto the bed.
Me: "Nigh night bubba."
D: "Nigh night mama. Ov you."

Abb will try to spell everything. She's so smart and such a fun little girl. We love her tons. JB thought Grandpa would like to see this one ;)

And with D around, it's always fun. Of course it wasn't funny then, but now it's the one she likes to watch ha ha!

(I keep remembering this story, and want it written down....it's a few months old. )

We loaded the kids and my stuff in the car to take me to the airport to go to Utah last October. I went back inside, and quickly hid some hearts I had cut out for the kids to find. One on each of theirs beds, in their clothes and kitchen drawers, by the books, in the movies, on the mirror in the bathroom. I thought they'd find them all thru the week, but JB said they ran around and found them all the first couple hours of being home. "Mom left a heart on my bed!! Did you get one?" She ran in to our room. ( I hid it under the blanket for him to find later ) Ab didnt see it. "I guess mama doesn't love you" she said thru her sideways mouth with a little shake of her head and shoulders shrugged. LOL what a sweet, funny little girl

Let it snow!

Before Ab even came in the room to see us this morning, she yelled from the kitched window. "It snowed! Dad there is enough snow for a snowman! And a snowball fight! come see, come see, come seeeeeee!!!" We ate and got ready for the day, found and sorted thru the winter gear box, (which after we tried on D's snowboots, i found him out the back door, thru the gate and walking to the street.... saying 'bbbrrrrrrr!' ya think?) and went to the youth ranch for some cheap snowboots for Ab. After winco and some lunch, we layered up and went into the winter wonderland....

"Look Mom! Im a snowplow!"

Then we went in for some hot chocolate'....We sorted toys yesterday, and Dax has been toteing these ponies around ever since. "Nneeeeiiiiggghhhhhh!"
